I'm a designer. We purchase a lot of items wholesale but also retail. We purchase in Orlando, online all over the country. Generally, we've found our local Orlando Z Gallerie has difficulty providing very good, well explained bookkeeping receipts for sales, returns, etc. In addition, we've often found their art work has damages to watch out for (hidden under the corner covers.) We have learned our lesson regarding that issue.

In regards to the bookkeeping/accounting it generally seems haphazard and confusing. Attempting to understand the inconsistent receipts by speaking with store management is tiresome as no one seems to want to take accountability. Today, the manager demanded I come in person with my receipts (I live 45 minutes away and he is able to look up receipts on line as I supplied the receipt numbers). They often become snippy and rude with arbitrary rules (First he said I must come in for my own safety in order to discuss the receipts, then all of a sudden he was discussing them with me, not sure what the safety issue was). So, we've learned to be very careful with receipts, sales prices & returns. But really, that is a waste of our time. We want to work with vendors who value our business.

Last year it took me an entire year to receive a credit on a return from their corporate office (not sure why they couldn't do it at store.) We had to keep calling the local store every few weeks, stay on it. Today after we realized they under refunded us on a new transaction by over 100. After talking to the manager, he ultimately said no refund, too bad, the sale was over a month ago even though we have proof of under refund through printed receipts AND the item was returned due to damaged. I will be calling back as this really makes no sense. I felt he was not the person to talk to so didn't waste any more time with him.

In addition, one of the other store managers assured me that although they charge sales taxes to designers (we have a resale exemption), that there was a process through their corporate office which I could use to get reimbursed. He gave me the number and department to call to process the refund. So, with this understanding, we purchased over $1000 of goods thinking that we would be reimbursed for sales tax. Today we found out that the manager misunderstood the store policy. The art has already been delivered to client and paid for by my client. This means that our company will have to pay out of pocket for this additional sales tax (in addition to sales tax already collected & paid). No other vendor I know of does business like this. Very very frustrated. There is no way I would continue to do business with this chaotic nonsense and manager who is so lacking in customer service. There are so many great businesses in Orlando and online that understand how to work with customers to ensure return business. It seems like Z Gall is only after the quick buck and just does not care. Extremely Disappointed.
